Nelson should have been more concerned when two thugs from the local crime syndicate dropped by the office a week before Walt died demanding the two million dollars he borrowed. Instead, Nelson’s thoughts were on his ex-girlfriend Julie, a doctor at the hospital next door who showed up with four other doctors taking a tour of the printing facility. She ended the relationship a few years before but may now be interested in working things out. She broke his heart back then but now he can’t have her around. Then Walt was gone and the incessantly smiling police detective with a 3D-printed heart beating in his chest was asking questions about the circumstances of his accident.
Nelson heard the rumors of Walt’s affair with Erika, the attractive, young technician that worked for them but what could she see in an out-of-shape, middle aged, married man? Unless it was the two million dollars. And why would Walt need to borrow money? Their business was growing, no pun intended, and sales were up. Not only that, Walt married into money ten years before. His wife, Lillian, loved him deeply but they hadn’t been getting along lately – a mistress can do that to a relationship. As Nelson begins to suspect Walt’s plan, he gets the impression that so does the police detective with the relentless smile and coincidental heart. Far from giving up on the money Walt owes, the two thugs are now threatening to kill Nelson for it.
